I know the film of the Da Vinci code is due to be made soon. Are there any other films out already that are based on it or anything similar?

that god-awful film that came out about xmas time ... national treasure, was about symbolism etc

There was a tv programme on not so long ago, investigating the claims in the books about the Da Vinci connection with the Bible, secret societies etc which was quite interesting, although it spoilt the end of the book for me.

..not really along the same lines, nevertheless "stigmata" is a good film , be you a believer or not, it does however make you think about the extent of the  Vatican's powers ...

Yes, a film called In the name of the rose, with Sean Connery, old but good film with lots of twist's and turns.
