Have just watched a programme about a man who lives in Surrey who is a serious hoarder.I've never seen anything like it in my life.
The other people in the village didn't want to have anything to do with him but one man offered his help and eventually more people came forward to offer their help.
They manage to clear most of his garden but then had to tackle the house and then the programme ended! grrrrr.
Why don't people who make these programmes realise that most of us would liked to have seen the outcome?
Did anyone else on here watch it?

I've sky + it - there used to be people like this on Life of Grime.
Wouldn't you just hate to live in a community with so many busy-bodies?
Damn, I wanted to see it!
Yes as my sis called to say turn over to C4

My mother is like that (but not quite as bad) - The last eight weeks things have started to turn though - over 100 black bags gone - but still another 100 for the kitchen and larder needed. Anybody want Vogues from the 1970s?
Thought it was fascinating - he sounded such an intelligent man, and it is a shame that he lives like he does. He realises now that he has a problem, and the thought of tackling the inside of the house obviously caused him distress. A follow up programme would be good.
Hi Box, could you watch in online somewhere?

Boxtops you could catch the last half hour on C4+1.
He is worse that anyone I saw on a Lif of grime, even Mr Trebus.
I am of the "if I haven't used, worn, needed it in the ladt 2 years, chuck it" school
The hoarders fascinate me. I wonder why they do that. The one I watched was a couple of years ago, the guy carried home plastic carriers full of rubbish. You couldn't get into his house the rubbish was piled up to the ceiling with just a small space about 3 x 3 where he had a table and chair to eat from. I think he was sectioned.

Please excuse my spelling I have cut my right index finger and have a plaster on it so typing is a bit difficult.
I agree jamesnan. I wish one of those programmes would come along and do his house for him and somebody else to come along and fix him up with nice clothes as I think below all the grime is probably a very nice man.
Hope there will be a follow up but they didn't mention anything after the prog had finished.
Yes I watched it .Poor chap ..obviously very lonely with problems .
Nicely spoken man though and obviously very intelligent. Fair play to that young chap who gave him a hand and chivvied him along .
I'm glad some pitched in to help ,although I didn't see that up himself sniffy wing commander type doing much to help .
Probably too busy being the president of everything that went on in the village and minding everybody elses business.
I only saw the trailer but my house is rapidly becoming like his. It's a great way to live!

askyourgran I really think it must be some form of mental illness.
we were just saying the same thing,at least there should be a follow up programme!!
A work colleague was in that clean up programme with the two women (Aggie +??). As soon as they'd sorted his dirty home he went straight back to his old ways, as would this hoarder untill his mental problems were sorted because that is clearly at the root of the problem.
His house is worth 1 million!
Oh yeah...great way to live. It takes him 30 mins to use the loo...
Oh God yes Mr Trebus Mark Rae! His famous line to the council inspector was "Shove it up you bloody chufter!" I remember him, no wonder he didn't want to give anything away after living in the years when; was it Polish? people had absolutely nothing AT ALL! He was just being careful and ensuring he had something rather than nothing.
He has more than one house as well...
