We watched this last night to see John Thaw's daughter. It said in our paper she was the opera singer but that waswrong. Her character was called Dorothea Frizell but we cannot remember who that was - can anyone help?

Yep - She played the editor of the oxford mail - the one the young morse spent time questioning regarding when the crossword grid had been submitted to the paper.

She had a line, something like "have we met before?" as the young morse was walking out of the office, which at the time I just put down to a representation of flirtation - now I am thinking that it might have been a veiled reference to her father, John Thaw, and the fact he was Morse.

Might I say we watched the two hour prog last night and thought it really really good. Maybe a continuation following his progress to Chief Inspector then stop.
