Did anyone else think that the storyline where Becky and Kylie got Tracey's medical notes was totally far-fetched and farcical? I do realise it's not true (!) but the writing was very weak and spoiled an otherwise good idea.

Getting a wee bit like leastenders with these showdown in churches and pubs Are all the cast small or is my television on the blink again ?
All soap scripts and for that matter any drama scripts have to be far fetched otherwise no-one would watch them. Albert Square and Midsomer are more dangerous than Beirut in its heyday and the peaceful Yorkshire Dales where about the biggest crime you see is horse stealing is deadly if you live in Emmerdale. Plane crashes, car crashes, fires, shootings - why do people still live there?

ok, the scripts have to be a bit far fetched but Becky getting the medical notes was like a pantomime farce. It spoiled the whole storyline.
Pretty please, can someone tell me how she got the medical records!!!

Here's a brief synopsis: Gail gave her the password for the computer in medical centre. She and Kylie went there and kylie pretended she was sick to create a diversion and get the doc out of his surgery. She " fainted" and the doc and Deirdre fussed over her. Meanwhile Becky sneaked into the surgery and managed in a few seconds to access Tracey's notes on computer and print it out!!! She came out and Kylie miraculously got up and said she was ok and they both left. Pure farce! Scripwriters must think we are fools.
Thank you for that Elliemay1, I always think that Corrie is a bit like that old advert for cream cakes, Naughty but nice. I know it's a load of tosh but I'll confess to always watching it!
yep! *also knows its not real*

it would have been better if they had used the new handsome b/f as a witness, and he turned up to say - maybe as a concidence in the pub - to reveal when he'd seen her having the pains ...!

plus, what has peter barlow got ... ? i hate him! all stooped with fag in hand! carla would consider herself better ...
Steve would have no reason to believe him though if he wouldn't believe Becky. at least Steve saw her walking off to the flight with him.
And never mind the getting of the records being daft, the whole scenario of him being with Tracey at all was ridiculous!
Nice to see Becky getting some revenge though :)
Back to the original question. Yes, the storyline was totally far-fetched and farcical. The most obvious thing would have been for Becky to persuade Steve to check with the hospital about what date Tracey had the abortion, making sure she asked him in front of Tracey, just to see what Tracey's reaction was. But this would have been far too easy for the witers to come up with.
It always makes me laugh on TV when people access computers. They touch a key and instantly are into a programme. Nobody ever logs off, shuts down their PC - they're usually wide open to anyone. As for the Corrie scene, try nipping into a doctor's surgery and viewing records without at least 10 of the patients or a receptionist saying "hey! Where the hell is she going? DOCTOR!"
It grates on me when they just slam shut a Laptop,
