I have always thought he was involved. Things that happened where too strange not to be a set up job by him. If it was real they would have killed him as well as the time.
Is this the shireen dewani case. Of course he did it. They would have both been robbed and set free or both killed. She was not raped which would most likely have happened as well had it been a genuine abduction in that area. lso people do not go to the townships at night
I have recorded the programme. I haven`t watched it yet. My initial thoughts are that the husband is innocent. I would think that I will still think the same after I have watched the programme. Have you ever been into the shanty towns in SA? I have. They are seriously a place that you wouldn`t want to go into (that is if you value your life).
When I first read this story and it reported that he said he had come out of the window of the taxi and fallen onto a dusty road, but someone who saw him shortly afterwards said he was in a suit as pristine as if he was about to go into a night club, I thought he did it (or arranged it).
237sj,

Exactly, so what was he doing taking her there that night?
I don`t know grasscarp. Maybe the taxi driver took them there and he had an ultimatum.
I havent watched this programme, only read the newspaper reports. Unfortunately there is some pretty damming evidence against him which is why he is so dragging his heels against getting extradited to face trial. I have been to South Africa 5 times on business in the past 2 years so like you know that some places are very bad to drive in especially at night (and I did hire a car).
I'm still on the fence with this, what motive has he for arranging her murder?
How did he find those people willing to do it and arrange it all with them so quickly.
It's a bit extreme murdering your new wife. He could have just dumped her at the airport.
Was he paid a large dowry when they got married?
A collegue of mine was telling me about a time he and a friend hired a car in Cape Town. They got lost on the way back into the city and ended up in that huge shanty town on the outskirts. They found themselves surrounded by the locals and felt quite threatened. They ended up "winging it" and saying that they were MPs who were trying to improve the lives of the shanty dwellers. After listening to a barrage of "how can you help us" questions (which is quite understandable considering their circumstances) they escaped. He said he had never been so scared in his life. There is absolutely no way any taxi driver would take someone into the shanties (unless the tourists were so nieve that they didn`t know where they were going and the taxi drive had some kind of ulterior motive)
.... or that is exactly where he had been asked to go....
I saw that shanty town outside Cape Town for the first time less than 2 weeks ago. Quite unbelievable and awful. Would definitely not want to be there at night.
Why would the husband go to such lenghts though? Carjacking is rife in SA. Why would anyone want to go into the shanties? There are so many ways to bump someone off.
I dont know any more than you. Time will tell.
Just crossed posts. Yes, the shanty outside Cape Town is shocking. There is one in Jo`burg as well. I was talking to someone there and he said that the government wanted to relocate the shanty dwellers to another area where they can live in proper houses but they don`t want their communities broken up. I can understand that. Still shocking though.
Should have said I haven't seen the programme or read much about it lately.
Maybe he was but I still can`t understand why he would go to such lengths to get his wife bumped off. He could have just done the touristy thing and climbed up the Table Mountain and pushed her off. It doesn`t ring true.
He's being held in a mental health hospital. He must be a bloody good actor to fool the psychiatrists, the staff nurses and the care assistants. A bloody good actor!!
I find it hard to believe he did it but then I can't understand why the people who murdered his wife have pointed the finger at Devi? to set him up. No-one has come forward and retracted that. Was this brought up in the programme?
