this is nothing to do with the athletes, their performance their backgrounds etc

It is about C4.

I am finding the C4 coverage so flat and amateurish - never mind the mistakes such as naming the wrong nation standing next to the Brit in the T44 100m (declared as Russian when she was South African).

Has Clare Balding made a big mistake in transferring her allegiance for the proverbial shilling?

No, she's very astute as she's freelance and works for whoever wants her.
i watch them on sky 450-452 at least there are no ad breaks
Without Gary Lineker and Sue Barker, the whole thing seems to fall apart !

I quite like it. Can't stand Gary Lineker anyway and much prefer Clare to Sue. It's not perfect presenting but much jollier I think.
At least they appear to have got rid of Jon Snow. He was awful, didn't seem to know much about any sport. I think the coverage is OK, and our sportsmen and women are doing us proud.
It's the ad breaks that make me turn over
I cant see why this event hasn't got the channels dedicated to it like the first event
It does seem to have a lack lustre feel to it :(
she is the only good thing about it. Too many ad breaks, too much chat, and not enough of the action.
Gary Linekar was useless for much of the time at the Games, he seemed out of his depth, Sue Barker is worth her weight in gold, so to speak.
I'm glad I'm not the only one finding their coverage/presenting flat and amateurish.
more fault the BBC for not bidding enough for the rights, though the coverage from the start at C4 was poor. Clare Balding has proved that women and sport do mix, she is a first class commentator, knowledgeable and calm. as to the BBC coverage of the Olympics, some of that wasn't much better. When are they going to learn having idiots like Matt Baker prattling on and on puts some of us off.
I wish someone would put Matt Baker out of my misery. As soon as his shift started, either I muted or changed channel.
Clare's good.
alba, me too, i can't abide that man, his whiny tones and inane chatter make me reach for the nearest sharp object to lob at the screen
