Brock paid a visit last night and dug no fewer than 13 bloody holes in the front lawn. Looked a real mess this morning. Never mind - nature is wonderful ;)

Hi janine. The more I looked the more holes I saw. Right in front of the picture window. There is a toad in the back garden today - not at all keen on them. Moved it to the other end of the garden and carried on working. Just went out to view the day's labours and the damn toad hopped over my foot and returned to the spot whence I found it. At least it has been a beautiful day - not a cloud in the sky.
don't mind toads. tell him he can come and live with me.gaen is getting difficult to walk round at the moment between the badgers and the bloody fornicating rabbits making holes everywhere. nature is wonderful but could it just go and visit somewhere else for a bit. also farm dogs seem to think front garden is a latrine.

Fornicating rabbits? thuddddddddddddd

Nature can be very raw at times, janine :)
prepares shotguns.....badgers and moles haven't been too bad recently (must be my passing of wind out there), but bloody rabbits.....
rabbits just never stop...They don't need those bloody batteries
fornicating rabbits DT
do you think it would help if i put a 12 inch candle down each hole i find?
Blinking fox visiting my garden gave mr.cupid a hefty vet bill for removing 30+
ticks from our tom cat. The vet told us to keep the cat away from places the fox frequents. How can you stop a cat going from where it wants unless you keep it shut in.
The rabbits might like it janine

Gness - it would have been had I seen him/her.

Just seeing the aftermath is not so good ;)
Definitely, Lady J, especially if the type of candle that Mr Nobel invented. Stand well clear, mind you.

Funnily enough, Dave, have never seen a fox here.

The owls are going mad this week - keeping me awake. Lovely sound though. 2 calling each other most nights :)
Screech Owls here - lovely to hear, but dratted noisy if you are trying to sleep ...
Sympathies ttfn, we have badgers in the adjoining wood but they keep to themselves.
It is important we do all we can to save badgers, but what about the spread or TB to livestock? whats the answer?
saw young fox coming back from the pub last week, that is me not the fox from the inn!

Owls, pheasants, rooks, badgers, moles, rabbits, got the lot - even a puma spotted last year (Aug 3 and reported to Newquay zoo - one in the area apparently and big woods nearby to happily live in all year around).
