Is David, the new Egghead, the same David who was beaten by Pat in the competition to find a new member of the team two or three years ago?

Yes and no. He said something like that on one of the earlier shows this week, but I thought he'd said it was Barry, not Pat, who'd beaten him.

Probably was Barry. I remember seeing the programme but couldn't really remember who Dave was playing against. I suppose he has replaced CJ.

Yes Dangerous Dave was 3rd in the "are you an egghead" comp. They hired 1st and 2nd so I guess 3rd is the next best choice without having to run the whole comp again I guess.

I couldn't watch the show with that dreadful CJ, the arrogance and sore loser act made me shout at the TV. So glad he's gone.
