It had never struck me before but tonight there were times when he just reminded me of BM.

All I can say is - he was fantastic, best in show! As he is 73 at the end of January he can still sing! He just changed the pitch of his well-known hits to sound different, many performers do that. The oldies beat the youngsters hand down tonight ....... and sorry to say, although David Walliams is a nice man, I don't like his stupid compereing!
Hasn't he always talked his songs?
"Can anyone else see the resemblence between Neil Diamond and Bob Monkhouse or is it just me?"
LOL nope not just you, I see it too and dare I say it - a hint of Larry Grayson as well.
Only caught a bit of Neil Diamond (Mr Q and I were huge fans years ago, in fact Mr Q still is) for his age he is great!
He may not have the great voice he had years ago, but he's still got what it takes. I love him and saw him many years ago at Woburn Abbey. Great show. Yes, he's an old man now but I'd still rather pay to see and hear him than some of today's youngsters who won't even be around in a couple of years time.
"He's almost talking his songs now."

That must be an improvement - back in the day he used to shout them.
flipnflap ,you must be crazy.
Lets get one thing clear I am a fan , but he is sensational.
We went to see him about 5 years ago ( a mixed group 2o to 60 ,male and female),I was very afraid that he would be a let down as even I admit he was past his prime. However , He sang for over 4 hours with a short break (about 20mins),no support group, he was better than I dreamed off a real performer ,he had the audience in the palm of his hand. He was THE best live act I have ever seen ,and I have seen quite a few ( I used to work for the presedent of the Albert Hall and got masses of free tickets for the president's box).Everyone in our group had a great time and we all thought he was amazing. Neil Diamond past it -noway.
Blasphemy!!!
How very dare you! I won't have a word said against him.

I saw him live in Manchester last year and he was brilliant
Is Neil Diamond past it?

He is, we said!
Lol balders
I used to like Neil Diamond, but like so many other Artistes I think he should retire as a lot of them do not know when to stop.
Retire gracefully
