I suspect it has to do with work commitments and she will probably make guest appearences in future episodes
On another note Miranda is touring her stand up comedy shows in ARENAS
I suspect it will be dreadful - totally lacking the atmosphere of theatres and concert halls.
BTW - Loved last nights episode - I nearly cried - and I never cry

Thanks that what I thought. But just wondered if there was another reason.
In the orginal books Chummy went off to be a missionary as well.

Thanks for replies just hope we see her back again.
Like you ric.ror I had a very large lump in my throat last night and I NEVER cry either......
I agree wendilla. Call the Midwife is one of the best things on TV.
I will be watching y/days one tonight. I expect to have a bawl!
Love this programme .
They did make reference in the programme that she would be returning in 6 months so we may see her return before the end of the series - it will still be worth watching though without her - this sounds silly considering the title of the programme -but does anyone else think there is far too much moaning and screaming and legs akimbo rather than meaty storylines this series?
When I have my daughters in 1976 and 1980 I'm fairly certain I didn't scream and yell. The nurses wouldn't have encouraged it in hospital.
when our kids were born i was quite as a church mouse .Maybe the talented young lady is going on the other programme Hartbeatit
Ah, but none of the mothers are in hospital quizzywig, they are all in their own homes. Maybe I didn't scream, but I certainly yelled while giving birth to my three.
She went because the real life character went off on Missionary work. Read somewhere last week that in interview with her on screen husband he said they will be coming back.
i love this program and yes i did cry ! was very moving
I'm sure we didn't scream like they do on the telly in the old days, I have four and two were born at home, there was none of that over acting in my bedroom.
won't be so watchable without her!
well I've had four and no screaming -a bit of swearing under my breath and a few vows to never do it again -just think they are dwelling too much on the actual birth -its not supposed to be a medical programme.
