The One Show ... Again

Having further thoughts about The One Show. Who do you think should host? I think get Adrian Chiles back, with the lovely Louise Minchin. They are so laid back and natural with no chavvy laughter. I expect I will get slated on AB about this as I usually am but surely others agree with me?

/Does anyone know why they have 2 people to present the show, if the Beeb want to save money I'm sure that one person could do it & that also goes for the local 6 oclock news where one person says something & then the other one says the next sentence. /

The main reason in Live TV is that while one is working to camera, the other can be briefed and rebriefed through their earpiece

In News, there is another reason that unlike the 'newsreaders' of old, the presenters have had much more involvement in writing up their own script so the stories are divided between them and they have more in depth understanding.

As such it is only a reallocation of work between backroom and front of camera.

Overall, the cost of an extra presenter is only a small fraction of the 'TV Hour' cost.

i still say cut the show, it doesn't work with either presenter, those who go on it are looking for freebie PR for the book/film/show/BBC production, it hasn't worked even when Mr Charmless worked on it. If you want toe curling watch the bit of the interview, for want of a better word with Bruce Willis, has to be the most painful thing he has ever done, ripped t shirts and all.
