When I was going through depression a few years back I watched Hot Fuzz several times. It took my mind off my problems so I guess it was uplifting for me.

Wildflower

50 First Dates or The Wedding Singer (I want Adam Sandler to write me a song!)

Seem to have a mental blockage when it comes to The Shawshank Redemption. Keep trying to watch it but never get to the end.
This might sound daft but, 'The Worlds Fastest Indian'
An actor in his old age yet in real life playing someone of age with aspirations. A story that says its never too late to follow your heart and to never give up on your dreams.
He got the world land speed record for that class of bike back then and no one has ever dared beat it.
