Got to be The Good the Bad and the Ugly.

'Shane'...closely followed by 'The Good The Bad and the Ugly'

I'm not usually a fan of Westerns but 2 that i did enjoy were "The Quick & The Dead" & "Unforgiven"
The Magnificent Seven for me. Fantastic acting and cast especially Yul Brynner!
Blazing Saddles
The Big Country, plus many of the others above. Also, why do so many westerns have great themes. The Big Country, Mag 7, GB&U, all great themes!
It has to be "Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid" followed very, very closely by "The Wild Bunch".
The Searchers and the Cowboys with John Wayne
"Open Range" slow to start but a cracking last half, and I'm not a Western fan.
Always thought Jeremiah Johnson was a solid example of (near documentary style) the western genre, but it owes alot to The Searchers.
Best western ever has to be The Searchers!
