David Tennant will be seen raping his wife in a horrific 70-second scene in The Politician’s Husband.

The scene will be shown just after the 9p.m. watershed.

So, was that as disgusting as the Sun suggested?
I found the first ep rather strange but also intriguing.
The answer to the question in my previous posting was no, it wasn't disgusting, The lead up to it was about power and he needed to show that he still had some physical power over her even though his political strength was on the wane. The act, which is by its very nature is unpleasant, wasn't portrayed in a sensational way.
Did it last 70 seconds as advertised? :o)
All a bit of an anti climax really ...
i've been thinking zbout this a bit today - unless they show it close up (unlikely) how does the viewer know it's anal rape?
Heavily implied

By Aiden spitting on his hand to provide lubrication
By the angle of their bodies
And by Freya's expression of pain beyond what would be expected of vaginal penetration

Afterwards Aiden weeps
Next morning he apologises
im glad I didn't watch it .
no
After he spat on his fingers, I could no longer watch it and didn't watch the rest of it either.
Hmmm

the pronounced squeamishness seems to be a 'chick' thing

bearing in mind it's written by the excellent Paula Milne I'm sure watching the rest of the episodes will be rewarded with Freya's triumph over Aiden

Ahhhh Zeuhl's made a good point.
Well all I'm saying is it will be hard to watch back episodes of Dr. Who without that image in my mind ;-)
LOL

do you want to be one of my supporters sir.prize?
and i'll say nice things about you

I can send you the Info Pack if you like :-)
As rape is about power, and he has just lost his, where she has gained. I suppose this is why. Sad though, if it really is graphic. But the 9 o'clock watershed is well advertised and parents should stop their youngsters from watching, although we all know they don't.

Ahhhh Zeuhl . . .
LOL Doctor Who giving someone one up the bum! This I have to see :-)

I think he spat into his 'fighting hand' as well!

No wonder Billie Piper left. She found the Tardis confusing enough without him going on and on at her about using the 'back door'
Don't tell me any more....I have recorded it and will watch iy tonight.

"Lubricated his fingers with saliva?".............

A bit down market, at least in Last Tango in Paris, the lubricant was a pack of butter.....or was it margarine?.
I think it's brilliant .I'm not too keen on David Tennant as a rule but he's very good in this .I've seen far worse ....anyone remember Soldier Blue ?
I did drop a stitch in my knitting though :)
