James is pulling Louis Smith's leg and he is bravely trying some fairly strange new (for him) foods. Poor soul even got food hell (squid) instead of food heaven (chicken) and then James showed him the beautifully cooked chicken and whisked it away again and made him eat the squid. What a nice young man!

I do hope they can sort your OH out Jno.Sometimes these things they give you cause more harm them good.
I know for a fact that various drugs I've been given over the years for this rheumatoid/osteoarthritis condition have affected my insides.
Total white out here .Lots of snow overnight and the temps have dropped drastically now the wind has started blasting through. Minus 12 atm and it's just started to snow again.Chaos on the roads looking at the local news .
Another day of sofa surfing.Keep warm .

Our travel insurance doesnt worry about preexisiting conditions as they reckon they are being dealt with. Ours was for accidents and heart attacks missed flights etc although was covered for any eventuality. Mr N wasnt bothered so I forked out 170€ for both! Not needed as it turned out!!

Afternoon all...well this is tedious isn't it, this tea and wee weather? I keep telling myself it's hopefully only a few more days before we go back into a plus figure. It's making me feel so dizzy and tired, all I want to do is sleep.
I don't know how the birds survive it, they're feeding like mad. What I thought was a crow doing acrobatics to eat the fatballs is actually a jackdaw, a first for me.

Thank you all. This is obviously way beyond the experiences of GPs, even the gastro doctor said it was unusual and needed investigation. OH is much cheered up to be in the hands of someone with a grasp of the subject (she even noted on her covering letter "patient has been having a miserable time of it for weeks"). Sympathy goes a long way.

Pretty grim out there .Still snowing on and off but it's just getting blown around by the howling wind now. Bitterly cold with a real feel of minus 15 according to Accu.Not as bad here as some places have it further north but it's bad enough.

not warm neti, only 5 degrees c. they are low output greenhouse heaters designed to keep a greenhouse frost free....and under normal circs they would be fine.....but we have had -4.5 outside here. With no heat at all, the shed manages to stay 1deg warmer inside than out. I need to keep the torts between 5 and 8 for most of the time to keep them safe but hibernating.
We have a howling blowy wind today. A plastic chair just missed me off a balcony when i was walking down to village. Its Balearic day here. Another needless fiesta but at least as there is no school I dont have to time my trip to the rubbish to avoid 1,000s of cars.

Just had haggis for dinner. No neeps just a sort of bubble with pots, carrots, onions, garlic and cabbage. Was surprisingly nice. Last one we had was in 1976. But we are completely stuffed.
Hope you are all coping ok with your dreadful weather. We now have wind ( no nothing to do with the haggis!) .

yes Neti. I set it up especially for them every autumn. Its in a place where its shaded and can be ventilated for the last unexpected few warm hours and I keep the temp as steady as I can. They have a box each filled with shredded clean paper and I keep old quilts and a thermal blanket each to cover the boxes as it gets colder. Each box has two thermometers with sensors to monitor the temperature inside and outside the box and I have another thermometer to monitor the temp inside and outside the shed. Hibernation is harder to manage than when they are awake.

The lad next door knocked and said he was going down to Morrisons and asked if were we alright and did we need anything.We didn't, but I thought it was a very nice gesture.
At least it's warm indoors and we've got plenty of food .I'm glad I got my Sainsbury's order in as they're not delivering any more out this way until the weather improves.
I'll say goodnight and huddle up in bed.We've actually got the heating on low in the bedrooms which is most unusual.

Scope showed a blockage as we expected, apparently the tube carrying food is meant to be about 6mm wide but OH's was barely a pinprick thanks to scar tissue from the original ulcer. They put in a balloon to dilate it but because the tube was so small aren't sure it went in as far as it should. So we monitor the outcome and if OH is still full of acid after the weekend the op may need repeating. OH is feeling better already but that could be because they hoovered up a litre of acid, we will see, but at least we're on the right track.
