I really enjoyed the previous series but so far this latest one is a disappointment. Probably commissioning a further series seemed a good idea but it has lost its punch and the storylines are weak. The phrase scraping the bottom if the barrel comes to mind. Anyone agree or is anyone enjoying it?
I like the CIA side of the story, not so keen on the family side at the moment, but I assume it will come together. TBH, if I hadn't followed it all so far I wouldn't bother watching it now. So yes I agree, it has gone off the boil a bit!
Most of the critics agree with you, Rosie. Show has lost its edge. I lost interest when Carrie and Brody started their relationship, and also the suspension of disbelief required to think that someone like Carrie would continue to be employed by the CIA. They bottled it, basically. They should have had Brody detonate the suicide vest at the end of Series 1 and it would have gone out on a deserved high.
They seem to have merged two story lines: the terrorist one may keep my interest going another week or two. But the hopeless mother and irritating daughter one is getting to be like any other boring 'soap' (so I am told by those that watch them!)
Then there are the too frequent advert breaks that distract and cause us to switch channels for several minutes. Either that or record and fast forward.
