... at least I think that's her name. I just inadvertently stumbled across what I think was a chat show hosted by her. Does anyone really watch that voluntarily?

She (Sarah Millican) is better than that show which I cannot watch. I love Victoria Wood and her observations on life, the best person for that before her was Joyce Grenfell.
I can't stand her Naomi but then I can't stand most comediennes.

Victoria Wood an exception
I like her so yes, I do watch voluntarily :-)

Apart from anything else, her voice is enough to put me off. If I knew her in real life I'd make every effort to avoid her. Awful!
There are lots of comedian's that I don't find funny but end up watching because of other people in the house. I always end up laughing so have come to the conclusion that I'm easily amused :-)
Three cheers for Victoria Wood. I like Sarah Millican on Graham Norton but not on her show......she's cleaner on his I guess.

I don't know about her jokes - for me it was just her! Janet Street Porter has a similar effect on me. Urrgh!

(My husband's face was a picture of incredulity when I sat there watching. So funny!).

You're not alone.

I've had conversations about Sarah Millican with mates of mine, none of whom can stand her.

I absolutely love her to bits. In fact, she's the only stand up currently working that I would get tickets for (in a heartbeat).

It's difficult to explain why some comedy tickles you and some leaves you cold (because it's so subjective), but with Sarah, a lot of it is het accent (love the Geordie brogue) and delivery...her jokes are almost secondary to that.

My favourite:

I bought Heat magazine because on the front cover was a story about famous celebrities who'd ballooned in weight. I thought, 'I'll have some of that'. And the first story was about an actress who had ballooned...remember...'ballooned' to a size 12!!! Size TWELVE!!! I'd give my right arm to be a size 12....in fact I think my right arm is a size 12...

That made me roar, but again, it was the delivery that did it for me...
As for Victoria Wood...

Genius.

I've been a fan since that days when she used to provide the topical songs on That's Life. I don't think this country has produced a better comedy writer than her...ever.

The 'Two Soups' sketch is as good as anything I've ever seen...

And why she isn't a Dame yet is beyond me. The very definition of 'national treasure'. Media URL: http://youtu.be/Z6aYLOf8CUQ
Description:
We started watching it becasue we enjoyed her stand up but after 2 episodes turned it off.
Victoria Wood's Let's Do It song still makes me chuckle.
Should some serious programmes not do a programme on so called comedians . comediennes . Like news night exposes the not funny shows .Fake Humour with domnic whats his name .Id watch that .
What's fake humour? Do you mean canned laughter? Television comedies have been using those for decades and they still manage to be genuinely funny.
She's amusing. I'll watch if she's on, but like most TV these days, it's mainly on for company, background chatter/sound. Like much comedy it's either your "cup of tea" or it's not.
Perhaps they could consign Sarah Millican, keith Lemon and Jimmy carr to a desert island somewhere never to be heard of again.
i like all 3 of those ^
