Yes, it's a shock about Paul Gambaccini. I've always liked his style and taste in music. He's someone who has been equally at home on Radio 1, 2 and 4. He just doesn't seem the typed, so I hope it turns out he is not to face any charges

he may be in the position of a DJ who fails to accurately judge a partner's age, he may be a predatory paedophile, he may be innocent of all charges; we shall see (though possibly not for years, at the rate these things are going).

I must admit he's one of the one's I'd like to see cleared, but that's on the basis that I haven't the faintest idea what he's even charged with, so I wouldn't expect a judge to place too much weight on my testimonial.

I think I heard that he has been taken in for questioning but hasn't been charged. Unfortunately, mud sticks, much as I don't think he seems the type either, but what IS the type ?
