I agree andy, it may be interesting if other granddads gave their opinion
I agree with andy.
LOL... CD ain't that the truth x
I'm with china, would have much preferred not to be there myself - up there with teacher training days :)
Grandad seems a bit pervy IMO.

And definitelty extremely unfair to the Daddy.
As others have said odd to have your father and odd to agree to be filmed. The day is hard enough as it is.

Canary - I thought that, just don't seem right does it?
I told them I couldn't tolerate pethidine. Nobody listened. Maybe if I had had husband there then they would have listened to him.
I don't think it strange at all. It depends on who will be the best comfort for the mother.

Just mentioned it to OH who was a Midwifery Sister for many years, reckons she's seen it a good few times, usually where there were 'care' issues.
Daisynonna. I am allergic to pethadine too. I was given some despite saying I was allergic during a minor op once. Next minute they believed me!
Did you throw up grassy?
Yes!
Funny how some nurses take the stance "I know better than you"
sounds silly I know, I thought the grandfather appeared jealous !
I thought he seemed concerned. You have to remember these women are not really having a baby in 15 minutes...
I wouldn't have objected to having my dad there when I had mine thirty years ago, but I'm not sure he'd have wanted to be. The story goes that he passed out in the cinema during "Reach for the Sky" when it was announced that Douglas Bader had lost his legs. He'd never have coped with childbirth. :-D
I’m with grasscarp, mazie, and pixie. *** off and let me get it over with.
.... the 'stars' there spelt bu&&er - nothing worse.
So , did anyone enjoy giving birth then? I must say I did.
