One Born - Dad In Delivery Room.

Just watching One Born Every Minute where the young girl, 18, has her dad in the delivery room, she has the baby's father also but not sure I would want my dad in the room while giving birth would you?

Cloverjo, she does have a Mum but the parents are separated, Oh no, he's even down the 'action' end not just mopping her brow.

its the mothers choice , but I do wonder why her father would want to be at the birth, its also not fair on the natural father IMO.

I think some women only want the father there so they can see what they are going through not cos they are any help.

In this case the baby's father is just a baby himself. I wouldn't want either of my parents there.

Anne - you are right , the babys father does look a bit put out by the overbearing Granddad.

I presume they discussed it as a family beforehand and it works for them, I would have been happy had my father wanted to be present.

18 is hardly a baby. I had my first at 18.

i wouldn't want my dad (nor my mum) in the delivery room. Most likely because i would be swearing like a trooper. However it doesn't seem odd to me :)

I am close to all my daughters - especially the youngest one, but I haven't seen them naked since the day I stopped bathing them when they were old enough to bath themselves and wash their hair.

I think they would be utterly mortified if I fetched up at this most intimate of times - they have all had their mum there for their various deliveries, and I have come in as soon as they were covered up again!

It s never considered for a moment that I would be there for the births of my grandchildren - nor would I wish it to be.

Some intimacies are private - and this is one of them.

I wouldn't want any parent or sibling or friend in the room. In fact, I also wouldn't want to be in the room.
