Having missed the first series, can I watch series 2 with it still making sense and not missing anything?

You would be better off reading the books , this series is disappointingly rubbish.
Question Author
doubt I could find the books here, so will watch the series.
I am enjoying it but wish it wasn't split into two episodes.
Yes, you can watch series 2 without having seen series 1

Is it true if you live South of Watford you need Subtitles?
I've been quite surprised by the number of people grumbling about not being able to understand the accents!

Can't say I've had any problems.
I usually have a terrible time with the Scottish accent but I've been able to watch this no problem.
Well. I've been watching it. Apart from not being able to understand the dialogue - either the accents or the mumbling. I've no idea what's going on. Given up now. Pity. The location is gorgeous!
I use the sub-titles, no probs/
Way to slow for my liking. Each story could easily be put into one episode instead of the two.
