I'm watching it at present and actually think that it is better this year, I thought that the transvestite was really good, also Sweden's entry, but one thing I'm really impressed by is the staging and lighting - I imagine that is all computerized nowadays but very clever all the same. We haven't got as far as Molly yet, but I do think that there is some good songs this year.
A good point, Ken. A transvestite is someone who either gets some sort of 'kick' out of dressing in clothes normally associated with the opposite gender or who simply feels more 'natural' in such clothing. A drag artist is a performer who wears clothing associated with the opposite gender solely for 'artistic' purposes.
I put money on Austria at 22-1 it was clearly the best singer and song - I dont accept he won it because he had a beard how ridiculous is that? If it was political voting Ukraine and Russia wouldn't have given each other any points?
Gness...I am not sure how I strayed into this discussion, but I really couldn't care less ! While this nonsense was going on, I was watching BBC 4 and its tribute to Alan Bennett. An altogether more worthwhile way to spend a Saturday evening.
Me neither, Mikey....I taught myself a new knitting stitch listening to the radio but did catch up after seeing comments here.
Fair enough to comment on costumes...appearance etc. but some of the words used to describe Conchita got my back up....It and weirdo......and detracted from Islasmum's op.....
Maybe next year it'll be.....Person with fantastic voice and great song wins Eurovision.....☺
Can you tell me did Ireland have an entry this year, I know they give point
(Molly 8 points) but did I blink and miss Ireland's entry of fall asleep.
Thanking you
Now gness I find that offensive, over the years Ireland had a number of winners, (singers) and was it not Phil Coullter wrote Sandi Shaw's (for Britain)
winning entry.
I have now read that Laura did not qualify, Sorry I bothered asking a simple question.
