Eurovision Song Contest

I'm watching it at present and actually think that it is better this year, I thought that the transvestite was really good, also Sweden's entry, but one thing I'm really impressed by is the staging and lighting - I imagine that is all computerized nowadays but very clever all the same. We haven't got as far as Molly yet, but I do think that there is some good songs this year.

Eurovision has never been solely about the quality of the song. (If it was, it should only be on radio). It's as much about the performance, which is why we've had 'hamster wheels', trampolinists, in-line skaters, people dressed like Telly Tubbies and much more. Apart from wearing a dress (together with a beard), Conchita's performance actually had very little 'novelty value' to it; instead, he/she relied upon a good song and great delivery. So what's wrong with that?
