I didn't see it, but was it canned? People used to criticise Steve Coogan for canned laughter in the Alan Partridge shows; he responded that it wasn't canned at all, it was live laughter when the show was recorded with an audience.

Perhaps it wasn't jno, but it sounded like it.
Just puerile rubbish.
I persevered for about 10 mins till I could take no more, utter rubbish.
I watched a few minutes of it. I was slightly put off by the canned laughter, but The League of Gentlemen has it, and I love that so tried to stay with this. It was just not funny.
It reminded me of a similar show on recently set in Rome, I think, about rich people and their servants - similarly, not funny.

I remember some years ago, Alan Alda was interviewed about M.A.S.H. and he said that he loved it that the show was televised over here without canned laughter whereas in America it had canned laughter like every other comedy. I don't need to be told when to laugh.
This "comedy" was definitely not funny. The fake audience made it even worse! Whoever chooses this rubbish to put on our screens?
Didn't raise a titter between us Grumps, canned laughter drives me mad, that's why I hate American comedies
My response is always the same. Given that they need to put canned laughter on to signpost the 'funny' bits which would not otherwise be identifiable - why don't they ditch this show, and show us what the audience were watching when their laughter was recorded, since it was obviously several thousand times funnier than this tripe.

This rule applies to any canned laugher show - including this one.
Remember Derek Nimmo & Co in that old series "All Gas and Gaiters" ?
