Does anyone know what this film could be?
Black and white - possibly 40s - I think Olivia De Havilland or similar type. She played a young woman who was sent to a mental hospital but i can't remember why!
The end is where she is better and being discharged. The doctor asks her why she thinks she is cured, and she replies:
'Because I'm not in love with you anymore'
My brother explained 'transference' to me at the time, but I was very young and would love to see it again.
I think tThe Snake Pit was set in a private sanatorium. They must get a 'better class' of mental health patients.
I visited regularly for almost a year a patient in a NHS mental health hospital. They seem to me to be very sad places.
The only thing nice about our local looney bin is that the grounds are huge and peaceful. I am not sure what is happening now but houses and selling of buildings were mentioned.
