Same Character Different Actor

How many characters do you recall who have left a TV series only to return played by a completely different actor ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Last week I noticed in ITV 's Emmerdale "Robert Sugden" returned after 10 years or more played by a different actor.

Agree about Victoria - the little girl couldn't act at all. It makes you wonder how they get the parts.

I always thought it a great shame that when Maggie Jones died they wrote Blanche out of Corrie, rather than find another actress similar in looks. The part was more important than the player.

Another more obvious one from Red Dwarf was Holly the ships computer (apeared as a floating head on screen) First two series played by Norman Lovett, later to be replaced by Hattie Hayridge... who first appeared as the female opposite of the crew as Hilly.
