i see idris elba may be in the running for nest james bond(swoon) according to talk show host rush limbaugh it should not be allowed because he is black ! and because hes not scottish! what do you think ? personally im sure it could be written in the storyline somehow to accomodate the fact that idris is black and not scottish i mean i just watched skyfall and m has died so whoever replaces her could be black ? idris has also said he doesnt want to be known as the black james bond which i totally understand why cant he just be the new james bond why point out his colour , after all daniel craig isnt known as the blue eyed james bond, Sean Connery wasn't known as the Scottish James Bond etc they were just james bond ! ok ok i know im sticking up for idris anyone who knows me on here knows why lol

Isnt it about time they buried this James Bond character, its been done to death. I'm sure they use the same plot in every movie, they just change the script and the characters to suit.
James Bond has Scottish heritage and was also a Royal Navy Commander, if the writers can rework that then I don't see any problems.
Ratter, I'm hard put to see any similarites between Skyfall and From Russia With Love... though the Moore films are hard to tell apart.

Bond wasn't origianlly intended to be Scottish; Fleming thought he's look like Hoagy Carmichael

and wanted David Niven to play the part in films.
Admittedly, I havent seen the latest Bond films, the previous ones put me off.
Skyfall was rather good, completely different feeling from the other films. I had also got rather bored with the series and though I think I've seen them all I can't remember most of them.
J, David Niven's father and grandfather were Scots born in Perthshire and, though he himself was actually born in London, he often claimed - for reasons best known to himself - to have been born in Kirriemuir, also in Scotland.
Wikipedia describes him as an 'English' actor, so doesn't a person's paternal parentage count any longer as far as his nationality is concerned? If the wife of an American oilman working in Saudi Arabia gives birth to a child there, is that offspring a Saudi? He/she may, of course, be granted dual nationality by Saudi, but surely remains basically American.
Daniel Craig will be with us as Bond for a while yet -

Idris Elba as the next James Bond - Mmmm wouldn't that be nice!
I don't watch it, but I vote for Clive Owen.
I've never seen a James Bond film in my life and it's not my plan to start any time soon. The clips I've seen as trailers, ALL(no exceptions) look really naff. It all just seems so dated now .
Maybe do a spoof called Jaime Bondage with somebody like Miranda Hart in the role.
him from person of interest..jim something ! yes please ..
Clive Owen? Never heard of him, or did you mean Bill Owen? :-)
