I wondered that too. I have no recollection of Damien at all. Also I would love to know how the young boy got the poison capsules. Are they freely available in France?
my fransh has certainly improved - I flogged the prog to a Belgian fren' by saying - trois corps recemment desinterres sont trouves autour d'une table dans une nouvelle barraque
canal st Manch actually and the other punters sort of went o he's spikking fransh and the Belgian's eyes went like dinner plates and he nearly fell off his seat !
so I have episodes 3 - 6 to do and I will watch out for Damian - slitty eyes and followed around by a dog ? perhaps the wrong film
I enjoyed it but had to concentrate as I'd go between the subtitles and spoken but my French isn't good enough now to go no subtitles, but the spoken French can be slightly different.
Damien was an old school friend of Paul's, he worked in the same place as one of the guilty original lot (who ran the development firm) and was helping do his dirty work, as said above.
Paul bumped into him when the police went to question the guy running the development company and was invited to dinner with them. Seems like maybe longer than just a school friend as the I think the wife seemed to know him (maybe an ex school friend herself though) too?
Thinking back, when Paul went for dinner with them, the wife was saying how they may lose the house due to financial issues (when Damien had gone to put the children to bed) so maybe a financial incentive there to do his dirty work for him.
Ooh, another think I picked up, about the title, was that the show's name is Les Temoins in French, which translates as The Witnesses, however, I picked up listening to the French that a show home in France is a "maison témoin".
Thought that might be an extra link up with the title.
Sorry, I have no idea about where he got the poison capsules but I wondered if Kaz had had them originally as the way he was going to kill himself and his ex-wife and maybe Paul too but his plan was foiled but he told the son where to find them?
pasta...it's in black n'white in the new Radio Times...there's a whole feature about "new season" drama and The Returned is included. Six months have passed since we left the mountain town.......can't wait!
