ever met a celebrity and, if so, to what extent were they what you hoped or expected?

Yep! So long ago ... I was waiting for someone at the time & he strolled past ... loved him ... I asked for his autograph & he put his bag down & got a piece of paper out .. asked my name & wrote something nice.

I went into vannessa Fielding's dressing room when she was at the globe theatre.
I only had that lucky chance because my sister worked on stage with her many yrs ago.
Have also got several very well know peoples autograph too.
Tommy steele..Charlie drake..berñard bresslaw..Tommy cooper.
Have also had many hugs from the drummer Chris, in Florence añd the machine!

I managed to get all three autographs of the Birds of a Feather girls. Dorien looked really aged close up sadly.

I've met Justin Lee Collins. He was very nice.
I've met Lance Burton, the magician, after a show. He was also very nice.

As a coincidence the daughter of my wife's sister in law (Niece) was on Bargain Hunt blue team shown from Edinburgh last week. The pretty blonde long haired girl called Ellie who won with her friend.

Micky Most is a distant cousin of mine and he has met lots of celebs, Oh and I once met a famous Welsh opera singer whose name temporarily eludes me.

Trish and I wandered into a little back street bar in Paris and ended up being part of a small audience,maybe twenty or so, at an impromptu concert by Joan Baez.She entertained and talked to us for about an hour and a half before she had to go.Came across as not only a great singer but a genuinely nice person.

Baby sat Rick Wakemans kids, taught Roger Glover (deep purple - yuk) to ride horse, Twiggy at Glovers. Dennis Waterman at school fair (Rula clung to him like a leech). Did Cilla, Angelina Jolie & kids, sharon Osborne & kids hair.

Many years ago I was sat on my bike waiting to cross the road ( I was doing my paper round). This yellow e type jaguar screeched to a halt beside me and out jumped a chap who was .. 'all hair and teeth' .. he shouted at me in a broad Belfast accent .. "Young fella, which road takes me to Stretford".
He looked very untidy and looked like he had been out all night.
I told him which one and said " he better get his finger out as it was 4 miles to get to Old Trafford and It was only 15 minutes until kick off ...
... it was George Best.

danny, no not him I think he used his own name, possibly Sir Geraint Evans, it was in Wales so that perhaps increases the possibility a tad.

Met Richard Burton when I was very young (about 14 or 15). He was in his early days as a film star, and was with his sister in Port Talbot where I am from. A crowd of us went to visit her house. We met him, he was very pleasant, and he signed all our autograph books. I still have the autograph.

I've met Tony Slattery. I tripped over his bag in a restaurant. He was very apologetic, and surprisingly quiet. Not like his on-screen big mouth persona at all.
