There'll be a job vacancy at Downton now that one of them is going to teach. Will Burrows get that job I wonder? Will he want it? Too lowly for him perhaps?

Mr Moseley's job is lower down the order than Burrows, so that wont do. Even if Carson popped his clogs, Burrows isn't popular enough to replace him. I can see Daisy with Alan and Mrs Patmore could end up with Daisy's FIL. But no place for Burrows!! Remember how horrible he used to be, scheming with that lady's maid? Forgotten her name!

I don't think Barrow gets a happy ending.I read a spolier and I won't post it as I might get ticked off but there's at least one funeral before the final Christmas special.It's got to be either him or the Dowager .She's sailing off to the South of France .Does the boat sink ?

I wish it were that annoying Lady Cora or the dull Bates duo.. I like Burrows. He's grown on me... like a wart ! He was soooo vile early on but now he's much nicer but lonely and sad. I actually like him now.

Me too Jan. He seems to have developed a sense of self awareness. Yes he was horrible, really horrible, but he did try to help a colleague to learn to read so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, for the moment.

I loved the bit with the dog .And Maggies one liners crack me up.
"I'm a tough nut cracker" ..lol.She was brilliant when she winkled out the reason they wanted Isobel to go to the wedding.
That awful ladies maid that Barrow ran around with was O'Brien.

Maggie is my main reason for watching I think, Shaney....just love her anyway but this character is fantastic...and yes....the wedding invite winkling was great.....x

Gness...Maggie Smith was on the Graham Norton show last week .She was really witty and funny .I don't normally watch his show but tuned in for her .
Catch it if you can ,she was great.

Isn't Burrows gay? I thought he was trying to get the other young Iad into his room by 'teaching him to read'. Don't see him getting a happy ending, he was too nasty and it won't have been forgotten.

He is gay, but the reading offer was a genuine one and no funny business took place. I am wondering if he will get some kind of happy ending, his character is being rehabilitated for something....he takes good care of Henry jnr as well as helping with the reading.

Maggie Smith once worked on a film many years ago with Richard E. Grant.

Apparently, him and her did not get on at all well, because he was forever fluffing (or forgetting his lines).

Because Maggie is such a professional, she found his unpreparedness incredibly irritating.

So much so, that from that point on, she would always refer to him as:

Richard He Can't
