He`d hardly started on his speech when he commented on the "love between Roman Catholic priests and lawyers" He`s an intelligent man - does he think that by making contraversial comments which have nothing to do with the subject matter he is being funny and entertaining? He undermines himself IMO

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I have read his autobiography and I know that he had a hard time with his sexuality when he was young (who doesn`t) and his depression but the Baftas are not about him - they are about the people that win awards. I just can`t see why he feels the need to make cheap jokes as he is a very funny and entertaining man in his own right. It`s boring and I turned off.
