How comes every single one that is filmed has a problem? Do they all have problem every time? Or do they film lots of them and only show us the ones with problems?

It makes for good TV if they have a problem. The day to day normality wouldn`t make it onto our TV screens.

Yes I realise that, but how do they know which ones to film? Or do they exaggerate minor problems do you think?

They probably film all of it and then edit it.

TV producers simply seek out the most interesting characters well before they ever start filming.

For example, 20 years ago the people behind 'Airport' had thousands of staff at Heathrow Airport they could have chosen to film, and a vast number of airlines to choose from. It wasn't a chance occurrence that they chose to film Aeroflot's interaction with its customers. They did so specifically because it was obvious that their Ground Services Manager, Jeremy Spake, would be totally fascinating to viewers.
