Caught a bit of Porridge last night .

Not the original series , but a new incarnation with the main characters being a relative of Fletcher - can't recall what the relationship is and some other characters .

Did you see it - what did you think ?

That was Nigel, Norman's grandson. I thought they did a good job and loved the ending scene.

i thought it was an insult to be honest no one could replace ronnie barker as fletch

That is exactly why they didn't bring back Norman Fletcher. The storyline told us he died five years ago

I didnt find Nigel as loveable as Ronnie Barker. And Jason Watkins as Mr Humphries didnt do it for me at all. Thought Sherie Hewson was good as Mrs Slocombe.
