I thought I was going mad. They have totally changed the end of the film! WHY? I think it ruins the whole thing, the new, happy "oh good everything is ok" ending just doesn't go with the rest of the film. Has anyone else seen both versions? And does anyone actually like the happy ending?
What is the original ending, because I thought that it spoilt a pretty good film. Only seen it the once, but does he hang himself using his umbilical cord?
No, that struck me as a stupid ending, or does that happen in the original? Is it only the tone of the film which is changed, while the same stuff happens?
I watched The Butterfly Effect last year on a download, and i saw the 'happy ending' then a few months later it came out on dvd, so i rented it as the downloaded copy wasnt very good quality. So i watched the rented one and the ending where he kills himself really shocked me, i didnt like it at all. Everyone i talked to said they haddent seen the 'happy' ending, then i thought 'well did i imagine it' i started doubting myself and thinkin, 'did i dream it' but then my brother said he saw the same ending as me. Didnt like the sad ending at all. I thought it was something to do with the diffrent countries, in usa if they showed the sad ending then it might of caused an up-roar.
