Sorry, Danny Dyer, what an eye opener.
The most extraordinary episode since Matthew Pinsent's ancestors were traced all the way back to Adam and Eve
so who's Danny Dyer related to?
// I thought it was bl*ddy brilliant. //

Me too - even though I had no idea who he is. It transpires that he comes from the town of my childhood - so local boy makes good - kind of!! Quite astonishing!

Thomas Cromwell, King Edward III is his twenty-something great-grandfather, and hence he's related to all the kings going back to William the Conqueror.

Not sure I understand 'bl*ddy' tbh.
I understood it.
It isn't the most cryptic of the day.

Good oh ;o)
thanks, Naomi. That would suggest he can actually trace his line back to Alfred the Great and beyond

I enjoyed it, whoever he is it seemed to come as a huge surprise to him, I would love to have someone investigate my family with such resources. I get back to the late1700s but then the lack of written records makes it hard to go forward. Good start to the new series.
jno, indeed.
theoretically, supposing William the Conqueror had two children and each of those had two children and so on down the ages ((probably a huge underestimate as people had big families)... he'd have about 2 billion descendants alive today, which means most Europeans in the country could be descended from him. The trick is to be able to prove it.
I suppose it helps to have experts from places like Hampton Court Palace helping you in the search, but whatever, it was very, very interesting.

I had a chuckle to myself when his wife ran indoors screaming....
"I'm a princess"
Really enjoyed the programme.
I think we are all descendants of some or other Lords, Royalty, or other VIPs, I know I am?
