"celebrity" Mastermnd?

Watching the latest Celebrity Mastermind and don't recognise any of the celebrities. Vincent Franklin, Christian Malcolm, Chris Warburton, Graham Fellowes. What constitutes a celebrity these days?

>>> Does appearing on radio shows really make them celebrities? Why not? Chris Evans' radio audience is, at just under 10 million, almost identical to that of Strictly Come Dancing. Surely you're not saying that he doesn't qualify as a 'celebrity' (even if he hadn't done Top Gear as well)?

I find it quite pleasing that the list of 'celebs' you've provided recognises that radio is just as important (or far more so, in the minds of many people) than TV.
Any Radio 4 listener will surely know the character of John Shuttleworth

portrayed so wonderfully by Graham Fellowes. Fans of Radio 5 Live will know Chris Warburton from his 'Saturday Edition' programme.

What constitutes a celebrity these days is someone known to the public for doing just about anything without having a recognised talent or ability to do anything of real merit or value.
Those left over are , in no particular order, pundits, experts, practitioners and stars.
Anybody left over is a consumer/dupe of the above.
