When our resident music journalist says that he doesn't bother with the Brits you can be sure that they're not worth watching!

I'm certainly not watching but I've just looked at the list of nominees and it's all so predictable, with 'international artist' seeming to mean 'American artist', without a thought for great African or South American performers (among many others).

The Brit Awards are mainly for young people aren't they, I'm sure I would have enjoyed them when I was young and the over 50s opinion wouldn't have mattered a jot.

i have dipped in and out and enjoyed the bits I'v e seen. Wham's and Chris Martin's George Michael tribute was quite moving i thought. I like 1975. Not sure if I've missed Ed Sheeran but will catch-up later if I missed it. i love most of the clips of music- spoilt by Simon Cowell at the moment though

Ed Sheeran's music is 'OK' but it's hardly 'world class'. Readers of our local rag get fed up of hearing about him (because he's a local lad); the paper nearly always seems to have a 'non-news' story about him, such as this recent one:

Robbie Williams has come up with some good stuff in the past but his most recent album was grossly 'over-produced' and little more than a musical mess.
