Great British Bake Off

What is it with channel 4 and Sandi Toksvig.Not content with letting her ruin 15:1 she is now going to be a co-presenter on the Great British Bake Off.

Stopped watching 15 to 1 when she started hosting now another show off my list just when you thought we had got rid of Mel and Sue along comes another annoying presenter!

I have no problem with Sandi T....but I do dislike how all of these "reality" shows focus on the presenter line-ups. To my mind, the presenters are neither here nor there....the shows are about those taking part.

Ms Toksvig has her moments but Noel Fielding has yet to make this reporter crack a smile.
I'm sure he's having a great laugh though.

The reason (we were told) that Bake Off left the BBC was that the makers - Love Productions - were asking £75 million for three years' programmes. That's £25 million per year! There are only two presenters, two judges and the contestants are, by definition, amateurs; so, even if there are, say, 25 programmes in each series ( I think there are fewer than that), that's £1 million an episode, for a baking competition in a marquee in a field. That's Game of Thrones- type costs!

I agree Sandy and Noel would be worth watching, but still not interested in watching people baking cakes.
