Any older folk remember him in the film The Family Way, with Hayley Mills?
Was always interested to know why this was never shown again on TV, or at least I never saw it.

His brother (Alun Lewis) played Vic Windsor in Emmerdale and Daryll Stubbs (Linda Robson's imprisoned husband) in "Birds of a Feather".
I only learnt about his death today but apparently he died on July 25th. Didn't see it anywhere, press or TV. He was married to Cathy "Triffic, Triffic, Fabulous" McGowan.

There was a detailed and interesting obit in the Telegraph yesterday -
it seems he missed out on the contract film career he thought he was going to get, but made a big success in theatre and on tv.
He had a medical condition which put weight on him, and led to his character actor career as a thug / dodgy cop in a number of tv roles.
Shame, he seems to have been a decent guy and a respected actor.
