I`ve never been a fan of musicals. Actors suddenly bursting into song seems quite bizarre to me.

Cabaret is one I never thought I would like and it took me years to watch it - when I did I was hooked!
Went and saw it on stage and it was even darker!
Lol Paint your wagon was the first film my father took my mother too when they were dating!! Mother was not impressed!

Cabaret's unusual - all the songs performed by just two people, as I recall.
My mom liked most musicals, this was one of her favourites though.
Mum loved South Pacific, Oklahoma etc and Dad was once a member of the Doris Day Fan Club.

Can't believe I turned out heterosexual!

That said, I thoroughly enjoyed La La Land, it was brilliant.
I quite liked West Side Story ( still do ).
