Having read the book and seen the original series with Brian Blessed I don't like this series. They don't seem to fit the characters. That's just me though - I always prefer the book to the tv show.

I didn’t watch it but watched the first series. I was watching “Mrs Durrell” in her role in Line Of Duty, and a more different character you couldn’t imagine.

Very, very good actress.

Watched a bit of the first series, but not a patch on Gerald Durrell's books.

Afraid I didn't like it at all. The actor 'children' were older than they should have been and I felt it got silly.

I chose to give my 'chuckle muscles' some exercise so I watched the late great Ken Dodd instead.
