A Very English Scandal

Watched part 2 of this last night and was very disappointed. Looked so promising after an exciting first episode but last night's was just far fetched and boring.

Based on a true story, crissa, so while the key points are correct there is plenty of padding and dramatisation

Norman has said that the show is factually wrong on some things, but really who knows if he is being truthful or remembering everything correctly.

Impossible to tell, I always take a dramatisation as just that.

I had every intention of watching all 3 episodes but never got past the towel on the bed scene ("just in case") in the first episode. I was eating supper at the time :-//

Bad timing that Ken, my best giggle of last week was watching the reactions as those on Gogglebox tuned in - some interesting comments and squeals.

I would also like my ten grand back (sued by Thorpe when I said he'd had a homosexual relationship with the lovely Norm) and give the money fraudulently obtained by him to a children's charity.

I had just turned 14 when Thorpe chatted to me in a bus shelter on Torquay seafront in February 1974. Even at that tender age I was interested in politics. I was extremely flattered that this important chap should spend about half an hour with me talking politics. There was another Liberal MP with us who is still alive and I should not mention. After offering to show me around The Commons and put me up in London (which I thought was a very exciting idea) he started to gently glide his index finger from my elbow to my wrist. The other Liberal MP looked away and must have known what was going on. Just that simple action still gives me the creeps. Didn't take him up on his kind offer...

Lucky escape scooping. I enjoyed the second part and agree with many on here who say Hugh Grant is superb in the role - what a fine actor he is. Looking forward to the conclusion.

Remember all this unfolding at the time, was quite a cause célèbre then, however have not watched the tv drama
