the trouble with Love Actually, as much as i like this film, you can't watch it with the children, as it has some bad language and sex scenes as i recall. My SIL was going to watch it with all the family until i told her the plot, lol
That's true. emmie.
Can’t beat A Christmas Carol with Alistair Sim, along with It’s A Wonderful Life.
The only child-friendly "Christmas film" I can think of that is any good is Chicken Run.

I can't for the life of me figure out why I think it's a Christmas film (don't crucify me Eddie). It's just a bit of a tradition to watch it.
Its a Wonderful Life is my go to film, I love every moment of it, its a dire story certainly at the beginning, but love conquers all in the end.
Very little is on that i would want to watch at any rate and Diehard isn't one of them.
No its a die hard action film that delivers. The fact its at Christmas is a vehicle to explain the party and why John McClain happens to be reunited with Wife (aptly named) Holly.
Weirdly, I've never actually seen It's A Wonderful Life.
I haven't seen it either.
magic film, and very clever for its time
My son watches The Wizard of Oz every Christmas day. Has done for years. Think he knows the script by heart.
I love 'It's a Wonderful Life'. Superb movie. Krom/Ummmm, treat yourself for Christmas. Watch it. :o))))))
Any film continually, or even regularly, shown specifically at Xmas, becomes "a Christmas film"

I just cannot hack these movies which come round again and again,
I am blessed/cursed(?) with a very good memory so I am usually about two scenes ahead if I try and watch one, no fun at all :o(
It's a wonderful life is the only Christmas film.
Although released in the US during July '88, the film only reached UK shores 27th November for the London Film Festival before its general UK release on 3rd Feb '89.

It truly is a Christmas film in El Salvador & Uruguay where it premiered on Christmas Day, and in Denmark where it first was shown on Boxing Day.
Definitely a Christmas movie.
It's a 'Christmas Film' insofar as it is set at Christmas, but there, the link somewhat stops.

I know it's hugely popular, but I think 'It's A Wonderful Life' is one of the worst films I have ever seen, from its shouted dialogue to its clunky editing to the sappy storyline, I loathed it from start to finish..
just you and me, then, andy...
Channel 4 showed an unusual film one Christmas. It was leni Reifenstahl's The triumph of the will.
