Mum would video it in the afternoon, and in the eveningtime they would compete against each other. I'd join them if I was visiting. Sadly, they both died from Cancer earlier this year at young ages. I feel countdown "died" when they died, but I definitely think it's dead and gone now that Richard is no longer with us!
So I'm probably being very unfair criticising Dickie Davies.
I have only seen it in passing, but I feel they could at least have given the show some new life by choosing a presenter who was a bit of a livewire- not hysterical or anything, but someone like Ronnie Corbett or Stephen Fry. It was a snooozefest from what I saw.
Pickly! Am getting the manhole a sealed lid and will take it from there. English Heritage wrote back and said I can apply for various things, but basically stuff like mine is covered by local conservation dept, and typically my local authority has NO schemes... Boo.
