What do we think about Jamie Oliver's latest stunt? I think the guy is getting a bit too big for his boots .. and how did he get that black eye when he got an he Award a couple of weeks ago? I think after last night's episode someone should give him another one ..

i think what he did took a lot guts both personally and publically.i think the point he tried to make was that we have lost the link between killing and eatng as we just buy our neatly packaged chops off the shelves and are forgetting that an animal had to die to do this.

many of the people who have criticised him will be settling down to their lamb chops this sunday and not making the connection that somebody killed this lamb in much the same eay as he did.

i am not a vegetarian but chose not to watch the show knowing that this would be on it and would be upsetting.

I didn't see the show but if it was about the reality of killing animals to eat good for him. I fully agree with Mattk - too many people are content to have animals killed for them and not acknowledge responsibility for these deaths. I eat meat and I know how its killed. I get very angry with people who refuse to think through how the meat got on to their plate. If you don't like the idea of killing animals - stop eating meat!

I can only admire Jamie Oliver for what he did. It is important for children to know where their meat comes from. Hopefully Gordon Ramsay will do the same with his Turkeys.

I'm fortunate in that I was brought up in a hunting enviroment. But would only kill to eat.

i'd be a **** for his salary

"...too big for his boots..." - who the hell do you think you are??
I don't really see what all the fuss is about - people phoning in to complain that it was shown - ok it was before 9 o'clock but the point is that kids in Italy are more aware of where food comes from - maybe if kids here knew what food was they would have more respect for food and or the animals. I knew weeks and weeks ago that he killed an animal as part of the show as every interview I have heard him give talking about the show - he has mentioned it. In next weeks show he's going into a school or nursery in Italy to show the kids vegetables they way he did here. the clip that was shown last night showed him holding up an aubergine an the kids knew what it was. When I was a kid I wouldn't have recognised an aubergine as t's not common here but the kids here didn't even know baic vegcause all they were eating was twizzler, burgers, pot noodles, chips and other junk. In britain we are like Ostriches - we know how food is made but don't let us see it but someones's got to do it.
so how did he get the 'shiner'?
