Keeping Up Appearances

I loved this sitcom when it was on in the early 90s. Hyacinth Bouquet was a brilliant character and I started watching the reruns since before Clive Swift passed away a few weeks ago. I love it so much that I bought the box set with the Xmas specials.

Bizarrely, I couldn't get into One Foot in the Grave which was on around the same time. For some reason it didn't appeal to me. Other comedies I have watched time and time again are Blackadder and Red Dwarf....and Friends!

Probably been asked a million times before on AB but what comedy could you watch over and over?

I love Frasier, Big Bang Theory, Blakadder, The Young Ones.

I don’t think anyone has mentioned Cheers yet. That’s one of my all-time favourites.

Martin and Ann Bryce (Richard Briers and Penelope Wilton). Paul Ryman (Peter Egan) was the guy next door (who owned the hair salon). But we mustn't forget Howard and Hilda Hughes (Stanley Lebor and Geraldine Newman).

I like no 1 because it sticks two fingers up to Political Correctness a big plus for me and is also quite funny.

No2 is the best comedy that America can offer me. I appreciate the dark humour which suits mine.

My house and car (at the time the episode was filmed) can be spotted in one episode of KUA......as can the pub ummmm's family owned and ran.
The film crew left one of the props in-situ when they had departed and caused much consternation amongst the car-driving residents.

The was a couple who used to cycle into town on a Saturday and leave their bicycles chained up in our car-park, they always wore matching jackets and matching helmets whilst on their matching (his n her) bikes......naturally they were known to all as Howard and Hilda (EDC).

I can watch over and over again, Only Fools and Horses, Phoenix Nights, Max and Paddie's Road to Nowhere, Friends and of course, Keeping Up Appearances. All brilliant IMO ..

They were also filmed driving past Barry Road school.
