Just watched a proper quiz team absolutely thrash The Eggheads.In all 4 rounds and the final they didn’t get a question wrong and fully deserved the £11,000.

I understood the single players confusion over the Brighton Rock question. She was asked for the antagonist but, quite correctly, reasoned that Pinkie is the protagonist (albeit not a sympathetic character). Perhaps she might have seen through the slack wording if she knew the novel better, but as a test of general knowledge this was a failure.

I was really surprised she didn't get Pinky. I thought the question was who was the 'villainous teenager' but maybe not..(possibly Richard Attenborough's best ever performance IMO)

The film version with Dicky no pun intended Attenborough changed the ending very cleverly to reduce the final tragedy.

I've not read the book VE, did that not happen then? It was almost the most meaningful but pathetic part of the film!
