Well worth seeing.. if you like eltons music, worth going just for that. like bohemian rhapsody it centres around his sexuality and how he deals with it... (much better than Freddie in denial)... 9/10

Very good. I didn’t see the end though as the cinema had a power cut.

Maybe not quite enough music in. The actors playing Elton and Bernie were very good.

I saw it yesterday and really enjoyed it. Everyone compares it to Bohemian Rhapsody but you can't really - the only thing the two films have in common is that they are films about musicians. At the beginning of Rocketman there was a musical style scene and I thought I would be disappointed because I don't like musicals at all. The film had fantasy elements which were in Elton's mind and those scenes were in the style of a musical. The film was very colourful and flamboyant (which you would expect with Elton) and was very entertaining. I ended up feeling very sorry for what he went through. I will be buying the Blu Ray when it is released because I definitely want to see it again. In the meantime, I`ll have to contend with the real thing in Hove tomorrow night )

I bought a ticket to see him in Cardiff soon, but my abysmal sense of direction and the lack of trains to get home mean I can’t go. I’m gutted.

Thanks Clover. We are actually staying in Hove for the night because it looks like getting home from there and parking whilst there could be a bit of a nightmare.
