While flicking through the channels love island appears,my first experience of this,surely there is something wrong with our mentality in excepting this krapp on our screens,and yes I know that there is plenty of other channels to choose,but surely what kind of people watch this.

I have just watched 10 minutes of love island on utube,
My opinion hasn’t changed but then again that’s just mine,maybe I should have worded my post in a different way,if so I plead guilty,but there is no need for all the sniping that has been going on,I gave my opinion after all that’s what answerbank is all about

So the islanders are in there from sunday - friday 24/7 being filmed. There is only one hour shown from each day that is 1/24th of the footage they film. This is then filled with adverts, flashbacks, and footage of not even the islanders.. So the actual footage you see, is highly edited and clipped together non-chronologically to create drama, suspense and some kind of story or plot.. Do we think they will show, the drama, stupidity and comody? or the intellectual conversations?

If you want to judge a generation from a hour clip, be my guest. If anything, it says more about the people making the judgements, than it does those who are being judged.

In fact it's not. The 'bank' part is a clue. It's just become a debating site which suits the owners as it keeps the click rate up and therefore brings income from advertisers.

Arks, my stance on it is simply : Seems no worse to me than some other programs (like absolutely any TV soap especially, they bore me.)

Not only am i defending the show and it's views.. I'm also defending the younger generation from these prejudice, set in their ways opinions.

The attitude of.. "this is how it is, i'm right, and i don't care" is so arrogant, and part of the problem with society, discussions, acceptance and understanding. What a harsh opinion that is. So harsh, i felt i had to go the opposite way to it.

then we had retro.. Ay yes, mr uneducated (he knows how to use a truncheon) degrading the job positions that not only these contestants hold, but also so do many other people in the world.

Flippant, ignorant sweeping statements annoy me, and i'll prove them wrong, happily.

Enjoy your TV soaps, real they are not.

With over 3.3m viewers averaging weekly.. It's not something to claim everyone who watches it is a certified idiot.

The only reality show that I like is I'm a Celeb...

Although I don't like soaps etc... I'll only grind ones axe is when folk come on here complaining about it because Live Football is on.

There may have been - some agreeing with you, others saying they occasionally watch etc and even others wondering what it was about if they hadn't come across it.
