The French Lieutenant's Woman.

Like Retrocop, I love the old British films with people like John Mills, Michael Redgrave etc etc, particularly old British War films. Also the Ealing comedies.
I'm sure there are plenty that have left me feeling i'd wasted my time watching them but here's three that spring readily to mind;
The Beach
There Will Be Blood
The Hateful Eight
Glad it wasnt just me with Citizen Kane and Withnail & I. I didnt get why they were supposed to be so good.
Also don't know why 2001:A space oddessy is supposed to be great, I go so bored. Same goes for Apocolypse Now and the Excorist is one of the funniest films Ive seen in a long time but hardly "the scariest film ever"
Gandhi, titanic, 2001 a space odyssey, Barry Lyndon, Gone With the Wind, off the top of my head..
Another one for me is Schindlers List..

Schindler's List had the best theme music ever!
Avatar, Dunkirk, Gladiator.
I thought Schindler's List was a great film and told an important story.
I found the end particularly moving wwhen he wished he could of saved more. The photography was a first for me with the little girl in red during the Ghetto purge.
I didn't like It's a Wonderful Life either
Star Wars
Indiana Jones, all of them
Lord of the Rings
H Harry Potter, all of them
horseshoes, // particularly old British War films// I thought that The Cruel Sea with Jack Hawkins was a great film.
I like The Shawshank Redemption but according to IMDB it's the best movie ever. It's nowhere near that good, so in that sense I'm disappointed. It isn't even the best Tim Robbins movie (that's Arlington Road).
danny
'It's just the bloody war' sob.
lol Retro.
As you can guess danny. I have watched that classic many a time with a plate of 'snorkers' on my knee. lol
I just hope nobody thinks about making a remake.
Hope not. They would never find a Compass Rose replica. :-(
Anything described as 'feel good'.

Lol Douglas. Know where you are coming from. Corny Mush.
Retro, more importantly they could never find a replacement for Jack Hawkins.
